When replacement is the right call

When an Aledo Roof Has Genuinely Reached the End

Roof replacement in Aledo is the largest exterior expense most homeowners here will face, and it deserves a better justification than a stranger's opinion from the driveway. Aledo Roofing Pros only recommends a full replacement when the field of the roof itself has failed: brittle shingles that crack when lifted, widespread granule loss down to the mat, repeated leaks in different locations, or damage across enough of the surface that patching stops making financial sense. Most of these roofs are between eighteen and twenty-five years old, or they are younger roofs that took a serious hail event. The visit starts with a walked inspection and a set of photographs, and if the roof has years left in it we will say so and quote the repair instead. When replacement is the right call, we measure the roof properly, count the penetrations, note the pitch and the existing ventilation, and build a line-item estimate you can actually read.

What a Full Replacement Covers

Everything below is a separate line on your estimate with its own quantity. Nothing is bundled into a single unexplained figure.

Property protection before anything comes offLandscaping, AC units, walkways and anything on the ground near the drip edge get covered or screened before the first shingle moves. Windows and siding on the downhill side get particular attention because that is where debris travels.

Complete tear-off to the deckEvery layer comes off, including any second layer a previous contractor left in place. Roofing over an existing layer hides the deck, shortens the new roof's life and usually voids the manufacturer's extended warranty.

Deck inspection and replacement of damaged sheathingWith the roof bare we walk the deck and sound it for soft spots. Rotten or delaminated sheathing is replaced sheet by sheet and shows on your estimate as a per-sheet line with a unit price, so you know the cost before we find the damage rather than after.

Drip edge and starter course installationNew metal drip edge at the eaves and rakes, and a factory starter strip with a proper adhesive bead. This is the most common corner cut in the trade and it is where wind failures begin.

Underlayment and dry-inSynthetic underlayment across the field, with self-adhered ice-and-water membrane in the valleys and around penetrations where water concentrates. The deck is never left exposed overnight.

Flashing replacement, not reuseStep flashing at walls, counter flashing at chimneys, valley metal and pipe boots are replaced rather than reset. Reused flashing is the reason a new roof leaks in its second year.

Shingle or panel installation to the manufacturer's written specificationCorrect nail count, correct nail placement in the nailing zone, correct offset, correct ridge treatment. This is what makes the material warranty enforceable rather than decorative.

Ventilation assessment and correctionWe check intake at the soffit against exhaust at the ridge. An unbalanced attic cooks shingles from underneath and shortens the life of the roof you just paid for, so if the numbers are wrong we tell you what it takes to fix them.

Debris removal and repeated magnetic sweepEverything goes into a dumpster placed where you agreed, and the driveway, walks and yard perimeter are swept with a magnet more than once before the crew leaves.

Permit handling and final walk-throughWe pull what the jurisdiction requires and we walk the finished roof with you, with photographs of the completed work added to your file.

How the Replacement Runs

01

The inspection and the written estimate

Somebody gets on the roof, photographs the field, the valleys, the flashing and the penetrations, and checks the attic where access allows. You get the photographs and a line-item estimate with quantities against each line. This visit is free and it takes roughly forty-five minutes to an hour on a typical Aledo home. If the roof does not need replacing, this is the visit where we say so.

02

Scheduling, material and the day before

Once you approve the scope we book a start date and order the system you selected. The day before, we confirm the dumpster position, the material drop location and the start time, and we tell you what to move indoors and out. Weather gets checked against the forecast and we will move the date rather than start a tear-off into a storm.

03

Tear-off, install and the walk-through

Crews start early. The old roof comes off in sections the crew can dry in the same day, the deck is inspected and repaired, and the new system goes on. Most Aledo homes are finished in one to two days; steep pitches, multiple layers or significant decking work push it to three. At the end we sweep, walk the roof, and hand you the completed-work photographs along with the written workmanship warranty.

Why Homeowners Here Choose Us for a Replacement

The estimate shows its work

Tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, the shingle system, ventilation and disposal appear as separate lines with quantities. When a competing bid comes in lower, you can put the two side by side and see which line is missing rather than guessing at why.

Decking is priced before it is found

The unit price for replacement sheathing is on your estimate from day one. That removes the single most common mid-job surprise in this trade, where a crew opens the roof and produces a number you have no way to evaluate while your house is uncovered.

The workmanship warranty is a separate written term

The manufacturer covers the material. We cover the installation, and that term is printed on the estimate before you sign, not described verbally. Two promises, stated separately, from two parties who each actually control what they are promising.

Find Out Whether Yours Actually Needs Replacing

A fair number of the roofs we are called out to look at do not need replacing yet. We would rather tell you that now than sell you a roof you did not need. The inspection is free, the photographs are yours, and the estimate is written line by line either way.
